Siam City Cement PCL Thailand’s second-largest cement producer, aims to increase its domestic cement sales this year by around 10%, a company executive said. Ilam Cement set to boost construction

According to ‘Tehran Times’, the cement produced in the Ilam Cement Plant is to see a production increase by up to 1Mt within the next two years, noted the managing director of the plant, Morteza Lotfi. Lafarge bids for Himachal Unit

Lafarge has bid for the Government of Himachal Pradesh’s offer for setting up a 2Mt plant in the state. The plant is likely to be set up with an investment of Rs600 crore. Other companies to bid for the project include Ambuja Cements, Associated Cement Companies, Penna Cement and JK Cement. The project will exploit the limestone deposits in the Chopal region of Himachal Pradesh.    

Greek Titan Cement Buys Co on Zante Island

Greek cement maker Titan Cement announced the buyout of concrete maker and trader Betokat, located on the Greek Ionian island of Zante. The buyout was carried out by Titan Cement’s building products manufacturing subsidiary, Interbeton Building Materials, for an undisclosed sum. Interbeton has around 24 concrete production units with annual sales exceeding 1.8 Mm3. The company also runs a total of 13 mines and quarries, generating sales of over 11.5Mta.

Holcim Philippines relocates 36 families

Lafarge pushes cement sales ahead to 119.4Mt

The turnover at Lafarge rose by an underlying 7.7 per cent in 2004 to €14,436m, with cement accounting for €7,403m (51.3 per cent).
