Ukraine cement output up 77% in March

Ukraine’s cement producers increased output of cement by 77.3 per cent YoY to 0.717Mt, according to data from the Ukrainian State Statistics Service. Compared with production in February 2019, output increased 8.8 per cent from 0.538Mt. In 2018 cement production slipped one per cent YoY to 8.926Mt.

Domestic sales in Vietnam increased 19 per cent YoY and 147 per cent MoM to 6.797Mt in March 2019, according to the latest data from the Vietnam National Cement Association (VNCA). Egyptian cement exports declined in value to US$19m in the first two months of 2019 compared with US$23m of the year-ago period, according to the Export Council for Building Materials (ECBM). Vietnamese cement sales expected to rise 8% in Jan-Apr 2019

In the first four months of 2019, Vietnamese cement sales have been estimated to rise eight per cent YoY to 35.45Mt, according to the Vietnam Building Materials Association. BCMA requests reduction in clinker import duty

The Bangladesh Cement Manufacturers Association (BCMA) has requested a reduction in the specific rate duty on clinker imports to either BDT200/t (US$2.37/t) or a fixed duty of five per cent.
