New cement facility inaugurated in Iran

Monde Dashti Cement’s new 1.2Mta cement production unit has been inaugurated by Iranian President, Hassan Rouhani, through a video conference, according to the Tehran Times.  The plant based in Bushehr province represents an investment of around IRR3.8trn (US$90.48m) and has created over 170 job opportunities.

The largest 3D printer in the world is being prepared to start printing a two-storey house on the site of Kamp C, the Provincial Centre for Sustainability and Innovation in Westerlo, Belgium. Moroccan demand increases 4% in February

Morocco’s cement market expanded by 4.3 per cent in February to 1,115,641t from 1,069,926t in February 2018, according to the country’s Ministry of Housing and Urbanisation. The latest data indicates a modest deceleration of market growth when compared with January, when demand increased by 5.3 per cent YoY. In the first two months of 2019, domestic consumption advanced by 4.8 per cent to 2,289,727t from January-February 2018, when demand reached 2,184,783t.

US cement demand up 3% in 2018

Apparent domestic consumption advanced 2.9 per cent from 97.4Mt in 2017 to 100.2Mt in 2018, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS). The higher sales volumes were supported by an increase in the average cement price from US$121/t in 2017 to US$126.50/t the following year. Cement sales rise by 16% in Saudi Arabia in February

Cement and clinker sales in Saudi Arabia rose 15.7 per cent YoY to 4.24Mt (including exports) in February 2019 compared to 3.67Mt in the previous year.   Clinker inventory increased 17.6 per cent YoY, but fell one per cent MoM to 41.88Mt in February 2019. Pakistan's cement and construction FDI falls

According to State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), total foreign direct investment (FDI) into country during July 2018-February 2019 fell by 22.6 per cent compared to same period last year. The maximum cement price in Senegal will remain at previous year’s level, according to the country’s Ministry of Commerce. National cement consumption in Peru slipped by 4.9 per cent in February 2019 to 0.893Mt, down from 0.9Mt reported in February 2018, according to the country’s cement association, Asocem. Total cement dispatches by Asocem-related producers were up 5.3 per cent YoY, but decreased by 2.8 per cent MoM to 0.796Mt in February 2019. The overall output of Pakstan's Large Scale Manufacturing Industries (LSMI) decreased by 2.3 per cent for July 2018-January 2019, compared to July 2017-January 2018, says data released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
