Pakistan cement output up 6.6% YoY

Ambuja Cements receives state nod for new grinding plant

Odisha's State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) on Friday gave Ambuja Cement the go-ahead to construct a 1.5Mta cement grinding unit. The LafargeHolcim group's Indian concern has proposed the facility be established on 125 acres of land at Jharsuguda, according to Business Standard India.

Argentine cement market expands 9% YoY in May

Argentina’s cement demand increased 9.8 per cent YoY to 967,695t, according to the country’s cement association, AFCP. The rise in consumption is mainly attributable to an increase in bulk cement, which was up 28 per cent YoY, offsetting a three per cent dip in bagged sales. Dyckerhoff-owned Cement Hranice reported a one per cent rise in sales in CZK1.476bn (US$0.064m) in 2016. SCG establishes joint venture logistics company in Indonesia

SCG Cement - Building Materials Company (SCG), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Siam Cement Co (SCC) and PT Barito Investa Prima, have agreed to establish PT SCG Barito Logistics in Indonesia. Delays in offloading clinker at Chittagong following marine incident

Delays in the offloading of clinker have been experienced at Bangladesh's Chittagong Port after bulk carrier Ocean Phoenix, laden with 45,000t of clinker on board, started to drift on the outer anchorage, after her anchor dragged. The vessel then made contact with the anchored stern of bulk carrier Green Phoenix, which was also loaded with 54,500t of clinker.
