Philippines: Norzagaray plant inaugurates Horomill grinding mill

Republic Cement & Building Materials Inc inaugurated a 0.85Mta grinding mill at its cement plant in  Norzagaray, Bulacan province, Philippines, on Tuesday. Renato Sunico, president of Republic Cement, said that the FCB Horomill will lift the cement plant's total grinding capacity to 1.85Mta. The Norzagaray unit now comes under the wing of newly-formed CRH-Aboitiz Co following the divestment of assets by Lafarge Republic Inc last year.

Vietnam cement and clinker inventory at 3Mt in Feb

Vietnam's total cement and clinker inventory last month amounted to 3Mt, most of which included clinker, according to local press reports. Saudi: Eastern Province Cement Co begins trial operations of new mill

Eastern Province Cement Co has commenced trial operations of its new 150tph cement mill, with commercial operations set to begin in the second quarter of this year, according to a bourse statement issued Monday. The Saudi cement producer added that the relevant financial impact is difficult to be set at this stage as it depends on market supply and demand.

CPA: UK construction output falls in January, new orders indicate 2016 growth

Figures published by the UK's Office of National Statistics (ONS) show construction output in January fell by 0.2 per cent and by 0.8 per cent compared with one year earlier. Pakistan cement export volumes reached 393,391t on revenues of US$21.1m in January 2016, down 9.52 and 7.8 per cent, respectively compared to the previous month. On an annual comparative basis, the there was a 15.28 per cent decline in volume terms and a 19.14 per cent fall in revenue. Vietnam’s clinker and cement sales climbed 15 per cent from a year earlier to 6.62Mt in January, the Ministry of Construction said. Cement sales in Indonesia rose three per cent YoY to 4.45Mt in February 2016 from the same month one year earlier.
