Ecuador August sales slip MoM

Ecuador cement sales over the first eight months of 2015 climbed to 3.88Mt, the latest update from local cement association INECYC shows. During August 2015, sales slipped by 1.1 per cent to 498,845t compared to the month before when they reached 504,435t.

Indonesia's domestic cement sales rose 13 per cent YoY in August, data from Indonesia Cement Association showed on Thursday. Sales rose to 5.3Mt of cement last month, from 4.7Mt in the same period last year. Argentina sees August cement sales edge downward

In August 2015 Argentina’s cement producers dispatched 981,621t of cement (including exports), down 8.6 per cent MoM and 2.2 per cent YoY, according to the country's cement association, AFCP. The country’s cement demand fell by 8.6 per cent MoM but by only 1.6 per cent when compared with August 2014. Total domestic shipments reached 977,469t and no cement was imported. Mitsubishi Materials plans to invest as much as JPY3bn-4bn (US$24.9m-33.2m) to bolster its US business, according to reports in the Nikkei Asian Review. AMMC signs contract for Uzbekistan plant expansion

Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine (AMMC) has signed a contract with Turkey-based Dal Teknik Makina to expand capacity of a cement plant in the Jizzakh region of Uzbekistan, a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers said. India: Sagar Cements reports rise in monthly output and sales

India-based Sagar Cements Ltd on Tuesday reported a 6.87 per cent rise in output during August 2015 to 114,600t compared to 107,236t a year earlier. Dispatches during August 2015 stood at 113,380t, an increase of 5.23 per cent, compared to 107,749t in August 2014. Earlier this month the company completed the acquisition of a 100 per cent shareholding in BBM Cements. BMM Cements has now become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sagar Cements.
