Pakistan export pressures continue through FY14-15

Pakistan exported 7.682Mt and earned US$443.63m in FY14-15 (July 2014 - June 2015) compared to 8.81Mt at US$508.15m, according to data from the country's Bureau of Statistics. The data translates to a fall of 12.88 per cent and 12.77 per cent in terms of quantity and revenue, respectively. Argentina: July cement demand climbs 12.6% YoY

The Argentinean cement market expanded by 1.3 per cent MoM and 12.6 per cent YoY in July 2015, according to domestic cement producers’ association, AFCP. The country’s cement plants dispatched 1,073,762t, including 4140t of exports, a YoY increase in total deliveries of 11 per cent and a MoM rise of 1.3 per cent. No cement was imported. Dangote inaugurates Zambian plant

The Dangote Group on Tuesday inaugurated its 1.5Mta cement plant in Zambia together with a 30MW coal plant to power the factory. The  project was inaugurated by Zambia's President, Edgar Chagwa Lungu, at Masasiti district, Ndola,  Zambia. The plant began operations in June and is selling both 32.5 and 42.5 grade cement to meet local needs.
