UltraTech Cement said it has commissioned its 3.3Mta clinker plant at Malkhed in Karnataka, taking capacity from 53.9Mta to 57.2Mta. Vietnam first-half sales update

For the first six months of the year, Vietnam sales were 22.68Mt, according to latest data from the Ministry of Construction (MoC). The amount represents 46.8 per cent of the full-year target, the MoC added. Output stood at 24.7Mt, making up 44.1 per cent of its whole year target. Pakistan achieved record domestic dispatches in the fiscal year 2012-13 (July-June) as sales crossed the 25Mt mark, 1.1Mt higher than last year’s 23.95Mt. INC notes 21% sales rise, Paraguay

Cement sales by Paraguay’s state cement company INC increased by 21 per cent to 4.8m bags in June when compared with the same month last year. January cement sales peaked at 1,145,623 bags but notably dropped to 699,330 the following month – a trend which continued in March when INC delivered 577,623. Najran Cement undertakes maintenance on Kiln Line 1, Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia-based cement producer Najran Cement said it has shut Kiln Line No 1 for scheduled maintenance which will take 25 days to complete. The cost of the shutdown is around SAR5m (US$1.3m), according to the company’s projections.
