Peru first-quarter dispatches up 10.8%

Cement dispatches from the Peruvian market reached 2,476,577t in the first quarter of 2013, representing a YoY rise of 10.8 per cent on the same period of last year (2,235,485t). Of the total dispatches in the first quarter of this year, 2.42Mt were destined for the domestic market while cement exports accounted for the remaining 55,204t. Philippine cement sales in the first quarter of 2013 rose 3.4 per cent YoY to 4.787Mt, according to the head of the Cement Manufacturers Association of the Philippines.  First-quarter cement sales were also up from the fourth quarter sales of 4.409Mt, CeMAP President Ernesto M. The Tamil Nadu Cement Corp is planning to expand its Ariyalur cement plant in the state of Tamil Nadu, as well undertaking  a number of environmental and energy improvement measures. HeidelbergCement has increased its holding in the Russian cement company CJSC “Construction Materials” from 51 per cent to 100 per cent. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. Vietnam first-quarter cement sales slip

Vietnam sold 9.48Mt of cement in the first quarter of this year, down slightly from 9.57Mt in the same period of last year, the Ministry of Construction (MoC) said. The decline was attributed to a stagnant real estate market, according to the MoC. The three-month figure accounted for 19.5 per cent of the country’s full-year target, the ministry said on its website late Wednesday. Cement output in Catalonia stood at 474,832t for January-March 2013, down 42.7 per cent on the year, data from the local cement makers' association Ciment Catala showed. Spanish monthly consumption down 40% YoY

Cement consumption in Spain continues descending with demand in March 2013 down 40 per cent YoY, according to the latest data released by domestic cement association Oficemen. Domestic cement sales on the Ecuadorian market in the first quarter of 2013 rose by 10.5 per cent YoY while March sales almost reached the half-a-million-tonne mark.
