Cemex said it was never in talks to acquire Murli Industries Ltd.’s cement plant in western India, a spokesman for the Mexican company said late Tuesday. Egypt’s Suez Cement said on Tuesday it would shut down 14 production lines as part of an agreement with the government to relocate out of the capital to reduce pollution. Iran cement production exceeds 42Mt

Some 42.4Mt of cement have been produced in the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year (ended 21 November). The amount shows 18.6 per cent increase in comparison to previous years’ figure, the Mehr News Agency reported.
