Sarawak claims no cement shortages, Malaysia

Sarawak’s sole cement manufacturer, CMS Cement, has allayed contractor fears of a cement shortage in the local market, saying its plants have the capacity to produce more than the daily demand of 2200t.
 
Its executive director Othman Abdul Rani said the company’s Kuching plant in Pending alone had the production capacity of 3,000tpd, which was in excess of the current local demand.

Century Plyboards plans investment by 2012

Century Plyboards, a plywood maker and cement producer, today said it plans to invest INR1200 crore by 2012 mainly to expand cement manufacturing capacity. 

"We will continue to grow in the plywood segment but our investment in the two years will be concentrated in the cement sector in which total Rs 1,200 crore investment has been lined up," Century Plyboards joint managing director Sanjay Agarwal told PTI.

Sukholozhskcement opens new line, Russia

Russian cement producer Sukholozhskcement has launched a EUR240m production line at its plant in the Sverdlovsk Region, a spokesperson for the information department of the regional governor told ITAR-TASS Friday. Barak Valley Cements to expand grinding capacity

Barak Valley Cements Ltd is to expand its existing cement grinding production capacity from 750tpd to 1350tpd.
