22.7% fall in April construction output in Bulgaria

Construction production in Bulgaria in April 2010 was 22.7% lower than it was during the equivalent month of the previous year, according to preliminary data from the National Statistics Institute (NSI). Thatta Cement to double capacity, Pakistan

Thatta Cement Co plans to double capacity to take advantage of rising demand at home and overseas.   “We plan to increase capacity within 24 months and that will lead to a rise in sales,” CEO Muhammad Fazullah Shariff said. A new cement works is under construction in Podgorensky, Voronezh Region (central Russia). Australia: Geocycle chemical scares

A chemical reaction in a holding tank in Australia was the second incident at the plant in two days. A tank was damaged at Cement Austraila’s Geocycle plant. No chemicals were spilled from the tank and the building was evacuated. Pokot factory groundbreaking ceremony, Kenya

Expectations of Pokot Central District residents have risen to new heights, after a cement company began construction of a factory in the area last month. The factory, expected to cost at least Sh14 billion, will be built by Cemtech Limited, a subsidiary of India’s Cemtech Sanghi Group in Sebit. The cement plant will produce between 1.2 and 2.4Mta of cement beginning in 2012.
