Iran exports 7.65Mt of cement and clinker

Iran exported more than 7.65Mt of cement and clinker during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (21 March –22 October 2018). Exports amounted to a 10.2 per cent increase compared with the same period of last year. Abdolreza Sheikhan, the secretary of Iran's Cement Association said cement accounted for 3.8Mt of the exports. PPC indicates price rises ahead for South Africa's cement market

PPC has seen group revenues grow by eight per cent to US$40m on the back of higher volumes and PPC's CEO, Johan Claassen, is not ruling out future price rises in South Africa. Pakistan's cement industry earned foreign exchange revenue of US$26.74m by exporting 616,648t of cement during October 2018, compared to US$29.05m on 671,913t of cement in previous month. Lao government revokes cement import licence

The Loa Ministry of Industry and Commerce has directed the departments of industry and commerce throughout the country to stop issuing import licences for cement. In future cement imports will be regulated by customs officials at border crossings in line with the regulations, as part of efforts to speed up and streamline business operations in the southeast Asian country.

Bangladesh's cement industry recorded export revenue of US$3.17m during July-Sept 2018 compared to US$2.72m of the corresponding year-ago period, according to the Bangladesh Export Promotion Bureau.
