Semen Indonesia posted a 0.2 per cent increase in net income in 2016 last year amid falling sales and revenue, according to a company filing on Monday. The state-controlled company posted IDR4.5trn (US$337m) in net income last year, just slightly higher than in 2015. PT Semen Padang has signed a purchase order with BlackGold Natural Resources Ltd's subsidiary PT Samantaka Batubara, to the value of US$12.6m to supply coal to the cement producer. Indonesia's cement sales struggled last month as bad weather disrupted construction projects across the country. Sales fell to 5.3Mt last month, down 2.3 per cent YoY. Semen Indonesia halts Rembang construction

Semen Indonesia has halted the construction of its plant in Rembang, Central Java, following the provincial government's revocation of the plant's environmental licence on 16 January. The company said it has complied with the government ruling despite having completed nearly 99 per cent of the plant. It is taking steps to submit certain required documents, such as an environmental impact analysis, required to obtain a new environmental licence.
