Peru-based Cementos Pacasmayo SA reported a 7.2 per cent decline in cement, concrete and prefabricated product sales in the first quarter of 2024 to 685,700t from 738,600t in the 1Q23. Net sales slipped by 0.7 per cent to PEN476.5m in the 1Q24 from PEN480m in the year-ago period. Cement dispatches in Peru increased eight per cent YoY to 0.97Mt in April 2024, according to the country’s cement association, ASOCEM. Cement dispatches in Colombia increased by 8.7 per cent YoY to 1.073Mt in April 2024 from 0.988Mt, according to the country’s statistics office, DANE. Cement dispatches in Peru declined by eight per cent YoY to 0.897Mt in March 2024, reports the Peruvian cement association, ASOCEM. Of this total, 0.825Mt was dispatched by ASOCEM members. Cement dispatches in Brazil increased 12.3 per cent YoY to 5.142Mt in April 2024 from 4.577Mt in April 2023. Votorantim Cimentos ended the 1Q24 with better margins due to higher sales volume and lower costs.
