Eurocement Group to acquire Nevyansk Plant

Eurocement Group, one of Russia’s largest cement producers, has proposed to the shareholders of Nevyansky Tsementnik, incorporated in Eurocement Group and based in the Sverdlovsk Region, to buy out their shares.     The buyout request was presented on October 23.     Eurocement Group intends to consolidate 100% of the Nevyansk plant’s shares.

New cement factory to be built in Tuyen Quang, Vietnam

CTQ Cement JSC announced plans to spend VND 1.25 trillion  (about US$78m) on a new cement factory.     Construction, which tentatively begins later this year, is expected to be complete in 2009.     The facility will produce about 910,000t of cement a year when fully operational.     CTQ was established recently with VND300bn (US$18.8m) in equity by affiliated of Viet Nam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group.

MSP Steel signs MoU with Madhya Pradesh Government for cement plant

A six-week strike at New Caledonia’s only cement plant has been settled after causing massive disruption to the territory’s construction industry. India’s Ambuja Oct cement shipments up 3.6 per cent YoY

Ambuja Cements , India’s third-largest cement maker, said on Friday its October shipments rose 3.6 per cent to 1.48Mt from 1.43Mt a year earlier.     Production rose an annual 4.8 per cent to 1.51Mt, the company said in a statement.     Swiss cement maker Holcim owns about 40 per cent of Ambuja Cements.

India’s ACC Oct cement shipments up 6.7 per cent YoY

India’s ACC Ltd said on Thursday its October cement shipments rose 6.7 percent to 1.76Mt from 1.65Mta year earlier.     The Mumbai-based company, in which Swiss cement maker Holcim controls about 41 percent, said production in the month was 1.76Mt, up from 1.68 million tonnes a year ago.    ACC has an annual cement making capacity of 19.9Mt, making it India’s single biggest cement maker.     Grasim Industries has 14.1Mt capacity, while its unit UltraTech Cement has 17Mt.
