Cement prices in India are expected to be stable following the arrival of monsoon. The increase in production and despatches will be countered by the onset of the monsoon, which will prevent any fluctuation in the prices. Chinese firm CNEEC signed a contact here Wednesday to build a cement production factory in the Western city of Hamedan. The contract was signed between an official of the Chinese company and Hamedan Mayor Khosrow Sameri. Sameri said that the plant will be totally financed by the CNEEC. Cement prices in the Afghanistan capital Kabul have been on the rise following the closure of the under-construction Mahipar Road linking the city with Torkham. Vietnam will this year have to import some 4.5Mt of clinker for cement production, the same amount as last year, the country’s biggest cement producer said on Wednesday. Sinoma wins US$78.87m cement plant bid

Sinoma International Engineering Co said it has signed a 652.8m yuan (US$78.87m) contract to build a cement production line for Guochan Industrial (Fujian) Cement Co Ltd. The construction period for the production line will be 20 months, said Sinoma. It also said that one of its units, CBMI Construction Co Ltd, has won a €20.28m (US$24.82m) bid to build a section of a cement production line in Morocco for Holcim Ltd, an international cement supplier.
