Lafarge  has today announced th edecision by Lafarge Ciments (Morocco), its 50 per cent subsidiary, to build a new production line in Bouskoura, Morocco, to increase the cement capacity by over 900,000t. Indonesian domestic cement sales jumped 20 per cent to 2.04Mt in February compared to the same month last year, the country’s largest cement maker said. PT Semen Gresik Tbk, 25.5 per cent owned by Cemex  said in a statement obtained on Monday that its own sales, including exports, jumped 23.4 per cent in February to almost 1Mt. Dyckerhoff plans to sue Cartel Office

Holcim Investments has announced its intention of buying the remaining 6.57 per cent of the corporate capital of Holcim Apasco in order to become 100 per cent owner of its Mexican subsidiary. On March 15, Holcim Investments purchased 24.54 per cent of the stock in Holcime Apasco of a total of 31.11 per cent that it intended to buy. Cementos Bio Bio 2003 net profit up

Chile’s Cementos Bio Bio posted a 20bn peso (US$32.4m) consolidated net profit in 2003, a 32.8 per cent jump from the year before, Bio Bio said in a statement to the country’s securities regulator (SVS).  The increase was due to higher sales and lower operating costs as a result of efficiency and productivity efforts, the company said. On March 18, Guizhou Lanhua (Orchid) Cement Co, Ltd (GLCC), the largest cement enterprise in Guizhou, China, put its first product line into production in Qingzhen of Quizhou.
