Peru’s cement dispatches fell 10 per cent to 0.73Mt in April when compared with April 2016, when 0.811Mt were delivered, according to the country's cement producers' association, Asocem. Wonder Cement plans to set up three units in the Indian states of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana to increase its total cement capacity to 11Mta over the next three years. Shares of Shree Cement declined over five per cent on Wednesday after the company said its profits more than halved in March quarter. The company reported a standalone profit of INR304.5bn (US$4.73bn) for the fourth quarter ended 31 March, compared with INR663bn, reported for the same period last year, said the Economic Times. Cemengal of Spain has completed an engineering and supply contract for Indonesian cement producer Cemindo Gemilang. The contract, signed on 22 July 2016, was for three cement grinding units. In a reference letter dated 26 April 2017 and posted on Cemengal’s website, Anang Adji Sunoto, project and operation director of Cemindo Gemilang, wrote: "This engineering and supply contract was performed within due time, quality, budge and safety requirements."

In the first four months of 2017, Brazilian cement sales to the domestic market totalled 17Mt, according to preliminary data from Sindicato Nacional da Indústria do Cimento (SNIC).
