Vietnam output reaches 54.8Mt in first 10 months

Vietnam is estimated to have produced 54.8Mt of cement in the first 10 months of this year, up 10.4 per cent from a year ago, the government-run General Statistics Office said. The figures include an output of 6.1Mt in October, an increase 10.8 per cent. In the first nine months, the country’s cement production hit 48.7Mt, according to the revised figure. Vietnam currently has 76 cement production lines with a combined annual output of 81.56Mt, data from the Ministry of Construction said....

Colombia’s cement demand expanded by 5.2 per cent YoY in September 2015 to reach 1.143Mt on the back of a strong performance in the contractor and ready-mix sectors, which noted a rise in cement consumption of 25.9 and 13.3 per cent, respectively. US shipments eight-month shipments up 3.5%

Total shipments of Portland and blended cement in the United States and Puerto Rico in the eight months through August 2015 totalled 59.1Mt, up by 3.5 per cent compared to the same period of last year, the latest data from the US Geological Survey shows. Mexico’s Cementos Chihuahua posted sales of MXN3.983bn (US$241.4m), up 23 per cent YoY, in the third quarter of 2015. Brazil’s September cement sales fell by 14.7 per cent YoY to 5.5Mt, according to a summary of preliminary industry data and market estimates published by Sindicato Nacional da Indústria do Cimento.
