Vietnam produced 3.8Mt of cement in February, down 9.5 per cent from January but an increase of 35.3 per cent YoY, according to the latest data from the government’s General Statistics Office (GSO). Philippine cement producer have reduced cement prices by an average of PHP3/40kg bag after the an industry-wide planned increase could not be supported due to stiff competition, and following the issue of a show cause order from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) for unwarranted price hikes. Limak plans two new Turkish plants

Turkish cement producer Limak Group plans to construct two new plants as part of its ongoing expansion plans, with investments amounting to EUR117.5m. The company is also planning investments further afield with two projects earmarked in Africa. The government of Ghana has signed an agreement with CIMAF of Morocco for the construction of a 1Mta cement facility. Vietnam Jan-Feb sales rise 6.7% YoY

Vietnam sold 8.4Mt of cement in the first two months of this year, up 6.7 per cent from a year earlier, the Ministry of Construction said. Of the total, 5.3Mt of cement was sold in the domestic market while about 3.1Mt of cement and clinker was exported.
