Indonesia’s largest cement producer, PT Semen Gresik, plans to invest up to US$600,000 on five cement packing plants to be constructed in a number of locations on the island of Kalimantan. South African cement sales rise 3.2% in 2011

South Africa closed 2011 with cement sales of 11.219Mt, up 3.2 per cent on the 10.87Mt recorded in 2010, latest data from the South Africa Cement and Concrete Institute showed. December sales were 0.73Mt, down 1.8 per cent on the 0.75Mt registered in December last year, although this year had one less selling day (20 days compared to 21 days in December 2010).
