Two Nepalese factories prepare to start production

Two large cement factories based in Dudhrash and Gogli of Dang, Nepal, are preparing to commence productions in two months, according to local press reports.

The state-run Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (Vicem) sold 16.8Mt of cement and clinker in the first 11 months of this year, up 4% from a year earlier. Taiwan Cement Corporation, Taiwan’s largest cement producer, recently announced it has offered NT$3.5bn, to acquire Tai Chang Group which is located in Sichuan province, China.

Vietnam’s cement sector is expected to remain sluggish in 2012 due to the continuing difficulties in production and business this year, Vietnam news agency reported, citing experts on Sunday.

Indonesia’s domestic cement sales rose 26 per cent in November from the same period a year ago, data from the Indonesia’s cement association (ASI) showed on Monday.
