Cement Corp of India eyes new grinding project

Cement Corporation of India (CCI) has proposed a new 0.85Mt cement grinding plant in Assam. 

 "Cement Corporation of India proposes to establish a cement grinding unit at Baikunthapur, in the district of Cachar, Assam," Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Praful Patel said.

 The unit is proposed to grind fly ash along with clinker to be transported from CCI’s Bokajan Cement unit in Assam for producing Portland Pozzolana cement, Mr Patel added.

Peruvian cement dispatches rise

Cement dispatches in the Peruvian market totalled 7.51Mt between January and November 2011, 1.68% up compared to the figure registered in the same period of 2010, when they totalled 7.38Mt, said the Asociación de Productores de Cemento (Asocem) today. ACC Ltd is developing coal blocks in joint ventures with state governments to secure raw materials for its plants, a senior executive said Wednesday.
