Total cement sales in the 1Q18 in Uruguay totalled 219,000t, representing an increase of 18 per cent YoY. Semen Indonesia's export sales more than doubled in April to 279,945t from 118,401t in April 2017. Meanwhile, the company’s domestic cement sales remained largely stable in April at 2,116,468t. Moroccan cement demand declined 15.1 per cent YoY in March 2018 to 1,124,152t from 1,324,221t in the third month of 2017, according to the latest data from the country's Ministry of Housing and Urbanisation. Vietnam sold 7.62Mt of cement in February, representing a 38 per cent YoY hike and 22.9 per cent of the full-year target, according to the Vietnam Building Material Association, Ministry of Construction. Paraguay’s Industria Nacional del Cemento (INC) sold 1,003,000 bags of cement in January, of which 87 per cent was sold from its Villeta plant, according to Derlys Ortiz, the company’s commercial manager. Cementos Argos has reported a positive domestic performance in Honduras throughout 2017. The company sold over 1.1Mt of cement in a record-breaking year, representing a 15 per cent YoY growth. The majority, 80 per cent, of Cementos Argos’ sales are generated through general use cement, according to M-Brain.
