Vietnam cement sales rise 5% in March

Vietnam sold an estimated 7.96Mt of cement in March, representing a 4.5 per cent MoM increase and 25 per cent of the full-year target, according to the Vietnam Building Material Association. In February 2018 Vietnam exported 2.6Mt of cement, representing a hike of 30 per cent YoY, according to Vietnam’s Ministry of Construction. Domestic cement consumption rose 11 per cent YoY to 5Mt. For the first two months of 2018, nearly 18.6Mt of cement were sold, including 5.5Mt exported, representing a rise of 121 per cent when compared with January-February 2017.

Vietnam exported 2.9Mt of cement and clinker, valued at US$101.12m in January, representing YoY increases of 32.2 and 30.3 per cent, respectively, according to the country’s General Department of Vietnam Customs.
