Cement sales rise, producers further growth projected, Poland

Polish cement producers say growth rates for this year may amount to 15 per cent on the back of a steady rise in consumption recorded from January this year. In August, cement sales grew 18.2 per cent against August 2005. Producers 1,626,000t of cement, up from 1,375,800 a year earlier. ACC Sept cement shipments up eight per cent, India

India’s second-biggest cement producer, ACC Ltd, said on Wednesday its September shipments rose eight per cent to 1.38Mt from 1.28Mta YoY.     The Mumbai-based company, one-third owned by Holcim, said production in September totalled 1.35Mt, up from 1.25Mt YoY.

Aizaz Mansoor Sheikh, chairman All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA), has said accelerated demand was witnessed for cement in the first quarter of the current financial year. China cement output rises 21.3 per cent

China produced 109.537Mt of cement in August this year, up 21.3% YoY.  This is the fifth month running for the country’s monthly cement output exceeding 100Mt.     According to statistics published by the National Bureau of Statistics, total cement output reached 762.2877Mt in the first eight months of this year, up 21 per cent YoY.     China Cement Industry Association predicts that the domestic cement output will hit a historic high and is set to exceed 1.2bn tons for the whole year.   ...

Gujarat Ambuja Sept cement sales up 22% YoY

Gujarat Ambuja Cements Ltd. said on Tuesday that last month its cement shipment jumped by 22% to 1.18Mt from 970,000t in the same month last year. Cement production in September was also up 22% at 1.16Mt. The company said that cement dispatches of Ambuja Cement Eastern Ltd. were up 45% at 161,000t compared to 111,000t in the corresponding month last year. Cement output grew by 46% at 167,000t versus 114,000t.

Construction of Dong Banh cement plant will begin in mid-October, after a VND308 billion (over US$19m) credit loan agreement was signed by Dong Banh Cement Joint-stock Company and the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development’s branch in Lang Son Province.
