Polish Grupa Atlas gets approval for EUR112m project, Poland

Polish building materials manufacturer Grupa Atlas was granted a permission to construct a cement plant, a mine and a lime-processing plant on the territory of Lodz Special Economic Zone, Lodz province, central Poland, the company’s CEO Grzegorz Grzelak said. Cement joint venture to invest in production expansion

Ha Noi (VNA)-The Nghi Son Cement Company, a joint venture between the Viet Nam Cement Corporation and a Japanese partner, is expected to submit to the Government for approval its plan to invest US$240m in expanding production. ACC plans captive power units

The Associated Cement Companies (ACC) has targeted annual cost savings of over Rs 100 crore by setting up three captive power plants. The plants are to be set up at Tikaria in Uttar Pradesh, Chanda in Maharashtra and Madukarrai in Tamil Nadu. South Florida construction companies and developers are counting on the opening of Titan America’s mammoth new plant to catch supply up to demand for cement.  The US$220m plant will be able to churn out 1.8Mta of cement, making it the larger of two cement plants in South Florida. Yanbu Cement Co. announced that its first half net income grew by 16 percent to SR 214.3m (US$57.14m) from the same period a year earlier. The company reported its first quarter net income, after Zakah, rose 16 percent from a year earlier to reach SR 104.9m (US$28m,).Yanbu Cement is Jeddah-based and is 78.9 per cent owned by the private sector and 21.1 per cent by the government.

Residents of the tiny village of Bukkosd (SW Hungary) have rejected in a local referendum on Sunday construction firm Strabag’s plan to build a HUF 27bn cement factory nearby.
