Cimpor invests in mortar plant, Spain

Cimpor  will invest a total of EUR9m (US$11.2) in the construction of a new mortar plant in Spain. The new plant will be situated in Boqueixon, Galicia region, northwestern Spain. Indonesia’s largest cement producer, PT Semen Gresik (SG), said sales surged by 20 per cent in the first half of this year, driven primarily by soaring demand from government-sponsored projects in East Java. The three ports of Colombian cement producer Grupo Caribe on the Caribbean coast and its cement and clinker transportation fleet have received International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) certification, according to local news reports.
