Construction output rose 0.4 per cent MoM in August but fell 4.1 per cent compared with a year earlier on a non-seasonally adjusted basis, the Office for National Statistics said on Friday. Indian September sales and production see marginal gains

Indian cement companies’ cumulative dispatches rose marginally by 0.2% to 12.71Mt in September from the same period last year, according to the Cement Manufacturers’ Association (CMA). Cement output also rose slightly by 0.4% YoY in September to 12.72Mt, according to CMA data.     However, cement dispatches in September fell 6.8% and output was down 5.3% as compared with August data. Cement dispatches during Apr-Sep rose 1.9 per cent YoY to 83.24Mt and output rose 1.8% to 81.22Mt.

Vulkan Cement to temporarily shutdown kilns, Bulgaria

Bulgarian cement maker Vulkan Cement said it will temporarily shut down its kilns starting in the beginning of 2012 over flagging demand and cement imports from neighbouring countries that are flooding the market.
